Yayoi Kusama in Tate Modern London

As of February 9 2012 Tate Modern London dedicates an exhibition to the world famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama with sculptures, installations, paintings and films. After the ‘Zero Exhibition’ in the Stedelijk Museum (1962) with Kusama as the only female artist, she became a regular exhibitor in the Dutch art scene in the sixties and seventies. She builds a strong friendship with Henk Peeters and Jan Schoonhoven. Yayoi Kusama, known for her ‘polka dots’, can be seen in the documentary Jan Schoonhoven – Official 18977 wherein  Jan Schoonhoven lets her paint his body.
